Punch Tribute to Roscoe, The Swap Eating Dog
A 2010 VC Rocks Make and Take presented by Ellen Kemper

Punches required:
Butterfly
Photo Corners
Large Oval
Wide Oval
½ inch circle
Slot - (for collar, not required to make the dog)
Word window- (for collar, not required to make the dog)
My way arrow (can substitute a thin strip of paper)
That really odd shape is the “negative” or left behind piece from punching the photo corner

From white:
Wide oval
Large oval
Smallest My Way Arrow – or cut a narrow strip with your trimmer or scissors
Butterfly
2 of the smaller Photo Corner
1 negative (left over) from punching the photo corner
½ inch circle – cut in half


From black – ½ inch circle punched on the corner of scrap paper as shown in photo

From red (collar color) – punch the slot, punch the word window around the slot HOLE, reinsert into the word window and repunch to “surround” the slot HOLE

(TIP: if you will turn your punch upside down you can SEE WHAT YOU ARE PUNCHING and you can center the word window perfectly around the slot punch hole)


Three things to cut with scissors –
Snip in for a “fur” look on the ends of the photo corner ears
The funny shape inside of the negative photo corner piece is cut in half to become his front legs and paws- shown below
The butterfly is trimmed as shown below – keep the larger piece you cut off – it will become his chin

Now you have all your parts – prepare them by sponging on some soft suede with a dauber or sponge where you desire color

Trace around the edge of each piece with a black marker for definition. I do this my laying my piece on a scrap paper and let the marker glide along the edge

This leaves a narrow black mark on the punch piece and a mess on my scrap paper

Take a scrap piece of cardstock to wad up and tear and put in his mouth.

Adhere all your “parts”. I use mini glue dots for 99% of my punch projects.

If an item is narrow – like the dogs legs – I roll up the glue dot with my finger so it is a “narrow blob” and use it that way.


Draw on freckles, eyes, eyebrows
White gel pen on nose
Cut a slit in the collar to put around neck
