King of the Grill

A 2010 VC Rocks Make & Take presented by Elizabeth Kratzer (made at a punch class offered by her upline demo, Janet Stockmann)

 

 

Supplies:

Stamp Set: King of the Grill 

Creamy Caramel cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded for card base

Ruby Red cardstock, 5 1/4" x 4"

Garden Green cardstock, 2" x 4"

Old Olive Cardstock, enough for punched out tag

Very Vanilla, enough for small tag punch

Scraps of Cardstock to punch:  Going Gray, Basic Gray, vellum, Ruby Red, Basic Black

Punches- modern label, 1 3/4" circle, word window, horizontal slot, 3/4" circle, 1/2" circle, Scallop Edge (punch amounts and colors shown on grill sheet)

Accessories: Big Shot, Texturz Plates Kit #4, Sizzlits Die Swirls Scribbles, Vintage Brads, Earth Elements Brads, Dimensionals, 5/8" Old Olive grosgrain ribbon

**TIP** Using textured cardstock and sponging every piece makes it more 3D**

Assembling the grill:

1.  Punch, sponge, and assemble grill according to Grill sheet pictured.  

2.  Use brads to connect the top & bottom grill, and on the wheels as pictured on card.  

3.  Adhere hot dog or hamburger to the black word window grill, then the punched vellum swirl for the smoke effect. (You may wait and do this step when attaching grill to card.) 

Assembling the card:

1.  Fold creamy caramel cardstock for base.  

2.  Give the ruby red cardstock layer texture by using the big shot and texturz plate. Layer onto caramel base.

3.  Use the scallop edge punch on one long side of garden green cardstock.  Attach this grass to the bottom of the red panel.

4.  Stamp (or print out)  "King of the Grill" on vanilla cardstock, then punch with small tag.  Layer that onto a Old Olive punched tag.

5.  Attach folded ribbon to back of tag, using a brad.  Pop up tag with dimensionals

6.  Before adhering grill and tag, lay on the card for placement.  Adhere, overlapping the vellum "smoke" as shown on the card.

7.  Give to the best barbeque cook ever!
