Storybook Tic Tac Toe

You will need:

Big Shot Scallop Square die

1 ¼ inch circle punch 1 3/8 inch circle punch

Storybook specialty paper Beary Best Friends stamp set

Soft Suede classic ink and marker Straight edge

Whisper White ¼ inch grosgrain ribbon Old Olive ¼ inch grosgrain ribbon

Scoring tool dimensionals

Sticky strip snail adhesive

Scraps of Ruby Red, Whisper White and Old Olive card stock

Crayons (optional)





1. Cut a piece of Storybook specialty paper to 5 ½ x 7 ½ and score on the long side at 5 ½. Fold at the score line and then add sticky strip to each side, close to the edge, and fold up to adhere forming a low pocket.

2. Cut another piece of the Storybook specialty paper to 5 ¼ x 5 ¼ inch and using the Big Shot and Scallop Square die cut a scallop square. This will be the base of the tic tac toe game.

3. Using a straight edge and the Soft Suede marker, make lines for the game. You will line up the dip in the scallops on the top and bottom and there will be 3 scallops between each line. (see photo)

4. Using your Beary Best Friends stamp set, select the balloon and party hat stamps. Stamp each one 5 times, using Ruby Red card stock for one image and Old Olive card stock for the other. Then punch out each one using the 1 ¼ inch circle punch. These will be your game pieces.

5. On a scrap of Whisper White card stock, stamp the balloon image again and punch with the 1 ¼ inch punch. Then punch a Ruby Red circle using the 1 3/8 inch circle punch and layer them with snail adhesive.

6. Take your ¼ inch grosgrain ribbons (both Whisper White and Old Olive and wrap around the base of the tic tac toe holder and tie a knot. Using dimensional, add the layered circles you just made with the balloon image on them.

7. To add a little fun, tie a ribbon around a few crayons to add to the game so the recipient can color the back side of the tic tac toe game and the holder if desired.
