Explosion Box

EXPLOSION BOX ~ Any any day Make & Take presented by Brenda Hugar

This is an older “technique”, but it is still very usable. The following instructions are for a 2”x2” box. You

can put small gifts in it, use it for party favors (for guests at weddings), or a zillion other ideas such as

Make-n-Takes. Enjoy and have fun making this quick and cute box. Bottom:

1. Cut cardstock 6”x6”.

2. Score every two inches in both directions (up and down as well as sideways).

3. Score corners from corner to junction of score lines (horizontal and vertical score lines cross).

4. Cut corners off, forming an eight-sided figure (like a stop sign).

5. Fold on all score lines, flatten, stamp if you wish and fold bottom together.

Top:

1. Cut cardstock 4”x4”.

2. Score just shy of one inch on all sides and fold. You will notice a little box at all four corners.

3. Cut along just one of the score line at each corner until you reach the next score line.

4. This will give you a flap at each corner, fold the flap in and place two pieces of Sticky Strip, one

at the top and one at the bottom. Do this on all four corners.

5. Once you have added the sticky strip, start putting the top together by attaching the flap to the

side next to it.

6. If you are going to stamp the lid, be sure to do so before you put the top together.

Fill your box, put the lid on and finish it off with ribbons, tags and other embellishments you may want.

You now have a fun 2”x2” box that functions both as a gift box and an all occasion card to help spark all

of your and your customers needs.

NOTE: This box can also be made in 3”x3” and 4”x4” sizes. Please see Brenda's blog for full details.
