VC Rocks!: Make & Take: Loni's Gift Card Holder with Env PB

Hello, everyone! Loni has a terrific new Make & Take! I love learning to use new tools like the Envelope Punch Board in different ways. I allowed the retired DSP from last catalog because it wasn't retired when Loni sent this to me and also the idea for this gift card holder is new. Loni's blog is here, where you can see her creations as well as her sweet furry babies!

Supplies:

Stamps: Trust God, A Dozen Thoughts

Ink: Early Espresso

Paper: Early Espresso, Blushing Bride, and retired Soho Subway DSP.

Accessories: Envelope Punch Board, Glue Dots, Snail, Stampin Dimensionals, Ribbon (retired satin chocolate chip), Sticky strip

Paper base (Early Espresso)- You will need 1 piece of 4 1/4 x 11 cardstock

Insert (Blushing Bride)- You will need 1 piece of 3 3/4 x 6 1/2 card stock in the same, contrasting, or companion color.

Layers - Layer 1 (Blushing Bride) - 1 piece of 3 x4, 1 piece of 1 3/4 x4; Layer 2 (DSP) 1 piece of 2 3/4 x 3 3/4, 1 piece of 1 1/2 x 3 3/4

Scoring:

For the Base piece of 4 1/4 x 11, you will score along the long edge at 2 inches, 7 1/4 inches, and 7 3/8 inches

For the Insert piece of 3 3/4 x 6 1/2, you will score along the long edge at 1 3/4 inches and 6 inches

Envelope punch board

For the Base piece, along the short end that has the double-score line at 7 1/4, 7 3/8, you will insert the short end in the Envelope punch board at 1 inch and punch; flip the paper over and punch that same end also at the 1 inch mark.

For the Insert piece, along the short end that does not have the score mark close to the end, you will punch at 1 inch and flip and punch at 1 inch.

Assembly:

On the Insert piece, you will use stick strip along the edge that has the close score mark; you will use 2 glue dots on just the corners of the punched piece that folds up to hold your gift card or cash insert. Stamping on this piece is optional - I stamped with the 'just because' image from A Dozen Thoughts

On the front, I stamped the image from Trust God on 1 7/8 inch square of Blushing Bride layered on 2 1/8 square of Early Espresso; and then layered that on top of the card using stampin' dimensionals.

The ribbon helps give the bottom section of the card a bit of Finishing touch/Gift Appeal as well as stability to the lower half of the card base which is the tuck-in base for the matchbook style top half.
