Have a Heart BlogHop

Welcome to the first of 4 Summer Blog Hops with VC Rocks!   

The hop officially kicks off at 10AM Eastern/9AM Central, 8AM Mountain, 7AM Pacific on Saturday and will run through the weekend... so have patience if you are an early hopper and find some missing posts before the kick-off.

Homepage Art by Michelle McCarthy-- Card using Framelits to create “new fold”

Materials used:

Concord Crush CS

Concord Crush Patterned paper

Silver Glimmer Paper

WW CS

Pretty in Pink CS

Perfectly Penned Stamp Set

Hearts Framelits

Embosslit

Crumb Cake Ribbon

Jewels

*To create “fold” and to have it tuck under, cut Concord Crush CS to size of 8 ½ x 4 ¼ size.  Fold in half to form base of card, then fold top in half again back on itself. When you close the card, lightly mark with pencil where that fold it on the card.

While the card is closed, take your chosen framelit (in this case a heart) and lay it so that the half way mark matches what you’ve marked on the base of the card.  Open it up again.  Now, when you run it through your big shot, only roll through to the half way mark on the bottom half of the card (the unfolded and marked side).  Thus, creating a “Half Heart” to the left on the back of your card base.

Run your patterned paper all the way through with the same size heart to match what you just did.  Then assemble your card.  The top fold should tuck under the cut you just created with the heart.
