Christmas Scallop Banner and Box

Carey's project was inspired by Patti from Creations by Patti. Patti was inspired by someone else who she doesn’t remember. She used some items that Carey didn't have so she changed it to be a Christmas project.



You will need:

Chipboard

Old Olive CS, Cherry Cobbler CS, Very Vanilla CS and Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper

Scallop #2 Big Shot Die, Scalloped circle punch, 1 3/8” circle punch, 1 ¼” circle punch, ornament punch

Old Olive 1-1/4” grosgrain striped ribbon,

Lovely Letters Alphabet, Delightful Decorations, and Just Believe stamp sets



Top Lid and bottom base of box: Cut two 5”x5” chipboard. Cut three 5”x5” Old Olive CS. Cut one 5”x5” DSP. Affix paper to chipboard. I like using the SU glue stick. Use the Scallop Circle #2 to cut them. After cutting them use a Stampin’ Write pen in a color to coordinate along the sides of chipboard.



To make the flower on the lid: Cut three pieces of DSP with the scallop punch. Three pieces were used to make the flower fuller. Score each piece from one side to the other. Fold in fan fold along score line. Attach adhesive to connect all three sections. To make the center of the flower: single knot a piece of 5/8” grosgrain ribbon to coordinate with flower. Thread both ends of the ribbon through the center of the flower. The knot will form the middle of the flower. Adhere completed flower on top of a 2 ½” circle of coordinating cardstock. Add dimensional to circle and adhere to the lid.



To make the Banner Holder Box: cut a piece of coordinating CS 2 ½” x 12”. Score along the 12” side at ½”. Clip the scored strip section every ½”. Cut a 2 ¾” circle of coordinating CS. You will end up needing less than the 12" but I didn't measure before I did it so before you wrap it around the circle and adhere it measure how much you need. I added sticky strip around the circle and then wrapped the clipped strip around the circle. Apply adhesive to the end of the paper to secure it to itself. Add sticky tape to the edge to finish the circle. Adhere this section to the scallop chipboard. This will form the bottom and sides of the box. Tie a piece of coordinating striped ribbon around the side of the box.



To make the banner: Decide on your message. Punch the appropriate number of scalloped circles +2 with DSP. You will add one scalloped circle to the start and one to the end of your message. I added an ornament made with the ornament punch to the first and last scalloped circle. Stamp your letter or message on the solid color of CS that you choose. Punch letters of message with 1 ¼” circle punch. Punch coordinating CS with 1 3/8” circle punch. Position and adhere each Scallop circle along the striped grosgrain ribbon. Adhere the 1 3/8” solid color CS. Add dimensional to the 1 ¼” circle and adhere to circle.



To adhere the banner to the banner holder box: Make a 3” circle in coordinating cs. Punch a large hole in the center of this. Thread through one end of the banner and apply adhesive. Cover the ribbon end on the lid with the DSP after putting it on the lid.
